26LC 04 004 - Environmental Influencer Course: Upskilling students to think critically about social change and to influence others to make positive more environmentally friendly choices
In this webinar the ISSN will talk through our 10 week Environmental Inflluencer Course that provides students with the space to think critically about social change and how it occurs. It will highlight how students are given an overview of what’s happening with climate change and biodiversity loss, they explore the links between the media, public opinion, and politics, and space is created to allow them to process their own emotions. Teachers will understand the skills they need to develop in students be able to influence those around them to make positive more environmentally friendly choices by practicing a range of skills including critical thinking, active listening, discussing and debating, confidence, and reasoning skills. This webinar is especially suited to Wellbeing teachers and TY Teachers who would ultimately run this as a module. Teachers of CSPE, English, Politics, Religion, Science, or SPHE could also examine the overview of the course and use some of the stand alone lessons to supplement or support their own subjects.
