The Role of the Class Tutor in the Post Primary School

Target Group:  Class tutors/year heads and school leaders interested in developing the role in their school.

Course Content: The Class tutor has a key role to play in every school, building positive relationships with their students, creating an inclusive class spirit and supporting student wellbeing.

  This course, offered over a single session will:

  • Help participants to develop a vision for both their own individual role as class tutor and for the role in the broader school context.
  • explore a range of strategies to support them in their day to day engagement with their tutor class.
  • Outline a range of possible initiatives that can enrich the role
  • It also  offers an opportunity to engage in professional dialogue with colleagues where ideas can be shared and developed..
