A Monthly Gathering for Inspiration, Growth & Connection

October – November, February - June (7 sessions) 2025

Essence & Purpose:

This year-long Community of Practice is designed for Forest School leaders, teachers, and nature-connected practitioners who want to continue their learning journey in a supportive, playful, and reflective space. Each session will deepen connection to nature, pedagogy, and each other.

Together, we’ll explore themes of the seasons, child-led learning, and the art of bringing Nature Based Learning to children. Expect stories, songs, folklore, creativity, laughter and woodland treats.  

Structure: 

• When: Saturdays: October – November, February - June (7 sessions) 2025 
• Length: 10am - 2:30pm (including lunch)  
• Where: Marian’s Wood - Blackrock Education Centre  
• Who: Forest School leaders, trainees, and teachers with interest in Nature Based Learning

Core Elements Each Month:

• Circles   
• Thematic exploration through discussion, activities, and storytelling   
• Skill-sharing and nature craft sessions  
• Developing ecological knowledge - birds, trees, plants, invertebrates, mammals etc 
• Reflection & peer support time  
• Seasonal inspiration (e.g. myth, song, poem, folklore, or recipe) 

What Participants Will Gain:

• Ongoing support and inspiration from a like-minded community   
• Fresh ideas, resources, and practices for their Nature Based Learning work 
• A deepened connection to nature and seasonal rhythms  
• Linkage with the Primary Curriculum Framework and Education for Sustainable Development  
• Time to reflect, rest, and re-center in their role
• Joy, laughter and woodland treats
